Arriving by Air

The fastest and easiest route to Cambridge by air is to Stansted Airport, London. A timetable for this service can be downloaded here and the journey time from Stansted to Cambridge is approximately 40 minutes. You then have the option of taking a cab or walking to the venue, which takes between 10mins and 20mins depending on your choice.

Travel from Gatwick or Heathrow is also possible, but these links are much further away from Cambridge and connection routes through central London can be unreliable.

From Gatwick Airport

Access is via a direct train run by Thameslink from Gatwick Airport to Cambridge direct. These trains run hourly and can take over 2 hours to reach Cambridge. For up to date timetables, please see the National Rail Pocket Timetable tool here.

From Heathrow Airport

By train - The quickest way to reach Cambridge is to take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington, then the London underground to Kings Cross Station. Trains depart Heathrow every 15 minutes and take 15-20 to reach London Paddington. Please allow up to 1 hour to reach Kings Cross from Heathrow Airport.

Fares are available if you book online in advance for the specific day of travel. Visit www.heathrowexpress.com for more information and to book tickets. From London Kings Cross Station, you will need to take another train to Cambridge (www.nationalrail.co.uk), you can purchase tickets online in advance or buy them at the station. Please note that the correct station to get off at in Cambridge is called ‘Cambridge’. There is a station called ‘Cambridge North’ and this will take you beyond central Cambridge and make it more difficult to reach the David Attenborough Building.

Arriving by Car

Cambridge is a small, busy town and as such parking spaces are limited and it is not recommended to travel by car. However, there is a large multi-storey car park at the Grand Arcade which is a three-minute walk from the David Attenborough Building. Prices and the address are available here.

A better alternative to parking locally is to use the ‘Park and Ride’ service. The best services that drop off closest to the conference are Trumpington Park and Ride and Madingley Road Park and Ride.

Trumpington Park and Ride is accessible from the North via the M11, Junction 11, and will drop off at the top of Downing Street, a 2-minute walk from the David Attenborough Building. Madingley Road ‘Park & Ride’ is accessible from Junction 13 of the M11 from the South of the city and will drop off on St Andrews Street a 5-minute walk from the conference. Parking is free for up to 18 hours and 72 hours is £30. Further information on all park and ride sites is available here.
